INTELLIGENT DESIGN PETITION - INFORMATION CAMPAIGN - HANDOUT
Intelligent Design Petition
We would like to request that the new Provincial Museum include an intelligent design display that shows the relationship between biology and computer programming.  This new Design View, that is challenging the theory of evolution, is based on observing that a gene in biology is similar in function to an object in computer programming; and that both are designed to perform specific tasks and to help make software reusable. For example, you can take the gene that codes for insulin and insert it into bacteria and the bacteria will produce insulin.  (This is how the world gets its supply of insulin today to help treat diabetes.)  This design hypothesis has great predictive value. It predicts that all mutations will be harmful, just like a copying error in a computer program will be harmful. (However, some mutations like sickle-cell anaemia can have a beneficial side effect (resistance to malaria). Also the design view predicts that there will be great similarity of genetic code between species just like there is great similarity of code between any two iphone apps because the apps all contain many of the same code objects to handle the routine tasks of any program. Therefore, the similarity of the genome between species is probably not evidence for evolution or common descent, (as has often been taught) but rather it is probably evidence of a style of programming we use ourselves; object oriented programming, and that's evidence for intelligent design.

Committee for the Intelligent Design Petition
What you can do to help!
Goal One
Goal One is for as many people as possible to read the intelligent design petition.
Reasons for Goal One. The evidence for intelligent design is a public trust and belongs to everyone. We count it a success if even just a few people, new to the topic, read about this evidence. If the readers have no religious affiliation, the scientific evidence for intelligent design will help open for them, the question of the wonder of the universe, of who the designer might be and encourage them to investigate the claims of the Bible to be communication from the designer God.  If the readers have a religious affiliation, then the new genetic evidence for intelligent design will encourage them to enjoy humanity's greatest scientific achievements as supplementing the language of, Creator God, to include, master genetic code programmer and designer, of all the details of life and space and time.
Goal Two
Goal Two is to be a supporter of an intelligent design display at the museum, at some future date.
Reasons for Goal Two. We are not actually running a formal petition at this time but rather focusing on the information campaign of Goal One.  However, an intelligent design display at the museum will help open up science education to the unlimited possibilities of all of nature bearing witness to the vast designs of creator God.  Unfortunately, current science education tries to limit science to the study of only natural causes; however, we know that everything is not the result of natural causes; with the act of computer programming being a prime example.  And we humbly submit that science that studies the relationship between the genetic code and computer programming, an act of intelligent design, is true science.

Visit the link   http://idpetition.blogspot.com  and copy and paste the text of the above Intelligent Design Petition Information Campaign Handout to your word processor and print some copies  to hand out to family and friends. We hope this will be an encouragement to their faith.  If you wish,  keep in touch with committee members and intelligent design petition supporters by following  @idpetition on Twitter and here we look forward to "tweeting" links to some great books and resources.  Thank you for your support!
